The compact, versatile lens system is the hallmark of LUMIX ZS series and now this lens system is totally redeveloped for the DMC-ZS10 in both optical and mechanical design. The new high-quality LEICA DC VARIO-ELMAR lens system is even more versatile with 24mm ultra wide-angle* to powerful 16x optical zoom (35mm camera equivalent: 24-384mm). Comprising 12 elements in 10 groups, including an ED lens and 3 aspherical lenses with 6 aspherical surfaces, this advanced lens unit suppresses chromatic aberration which tends to occur in telephoto shooting. It also boasts a short total length of lens unit despite its higher versatility with longer zoom range, which is made possible by development of a new mechanism for the structure of lens barrel. The lens system is also compatible with high shutter speed of min.1/4,000 sec.

Venus Engine FHD
For the image processor, the Venus Engine FHD is incorporated that features exceptionally advanced signal processing capabilities. By separating chromatic noise from luminance noise and applying the optimal noise reduction to each, you can capture clear and beautiful images even when shooting at high ISO sensitivity levels. The Venus Engine FHD also provides precisely selective noise reduction to the chromatic noise without affecting the border of colors which is judged from the brightness level of a pixel. Linking smoothly with the MOS sensor, the Venus Engine FHD processes a large amount of signals at high speed, making it possible to record high resolution consecutive shots and full HD movie recording.

The DMC-ZS10 large 3.0-inch Smart Touch LCD features a high 460,000-dot resolution, and a wide-viewing angle allows you to zoom, Auto Focus, release shutte and playback with the touch of a finger. The big screen reflects fine details, making it easy to check the focus before shooting. It also serves as a small photo and video viewer, allowing you and friends to enjoy viewing the still and motion images together.

3D Photo Mode
The newly added 3D Photo Mode* produces a 3D image in the camera. The image-processing method used by LUMIX records beautiful images with less distortion or visible image links. The camera takes 20 panning shots and automatically selects the two most suitable images, one for the right eye and one for the left eye, to synthesize a 3D composite. The 3D image can be viewed on a VIERA 3D HDTV. The 3D image format is compatible with MPO, so it can be played back on other MPO-compatible equipment such as TVs and digital photo frames, or printed.

Touch AF Tracking Subject Detection
Once the AF subject is selected by touch control, it continues to track the subject even if it moves until you press the shutter. When you're taking images of active children, pets, sports scenes or subjects in a moving object, this function eliminates the need to press the shutter button halfway down repeatedly to readjust the focus. The Touch AF Tracking makes sure you don't miss those once-in-a-lifetime shooting opportunities.

POWER O.I.S. (Optical Image Stabilizer) Shake Detection
Everyone has had an experience of taking a photo at night and hoping to capture all the memories and beauty, only to be disappointed at the poor result. Panasonic has worked on the low-frequency vibration hand-shake component, which is physically generated when pressing the shutter button or when shooting at night with a slow shutter speed. The POWER O.I.S. (Optical Image Stabilizer)* nearly doubles the hand-shake correction power of conventional MEGA O.I.S. With the camera in the iA Mode, the Intelligent Scene Selector automatically sets the Scene Mode Scenery, Portrait, Macro, Night Portrait*1, Night Scenery, Sunset or Intelligent Handheld Nightshot*2. The camera judges it from the various detection results such as focusing and brightness level of the circumstance*3. You are free from changing settings every time the scene changes when taking images with these Scene Modes to get beautiful results.

*2 The Intelligent Handheld Nightshot Mode must be turned ON in the menu prior to use.
*3 With some subject and shooting conditions, it is just not possible to judge the best shooting details. When this happens, it is recommended that you shoot with the Scene Mode that best suits your purpose.

iA (Intelligent Auto) Mode
When you don't know which mode will give you the best shooting results, or when a sudden photo opportunity pops up and you don't have time to change settings, simply choose the iA (Intelligent Auto) Mode and let the camera do it all for you. Just choose the iA Mode, aim at your subject, and shoot. Four detection and correction functions are simultaneously activated to optimize the settings, so you get stunning photos every time.

GPS with Place Name and Landmark Information
The LUMIX GPS displays not only latitudes and longitudes, but also the area information that covers 203 countries or regions and the landmark information of over 1,000,000 locations in 82 countries or regions. My personal 2 1/2 year-old boy has had to this bicycle. He can choose 3 miles about it straightforward. Everyone purchased to find any secondary birthday party then she didn't buy it in anyway. Then we reached it out once more proper around the time he turned 2 1/2 and in a week they were going on family bicycle rides. Everyone got the idea towards the zoo also it has been like I was at a rock and roll super star entourage. Anyone featured as well as made reviews for their families relating to this minimal kid using a motorcycle. The guy can glide the gap with just two residences now. A female quit us then stated the girl's grandson had the Skuut so he was riding a normal bicycle without having instruction wheels by three 1/2.

Everyone had got our kid the radio Flyer High quality Steer so Stroll trike and my best child didn't decide to use that at all. They didn't make him pedal and it's foot would just slide away whenever we tried to instruct him.

People do check the bolts frequently to create sure they are tight so check the tire pressure. Even via the guiding is restricted, you would not realize it the best way my personal child , rides. It gives him plenty of opprotunity to create sharp 90 degree turns like coming downward a hill so then making a sharp right to the sidewalk that tbones the hill. The seat pad is acquiring somewhat worn then I'm certain people will just put it back ourselves when it wears by way of. i.e. develop old vinyl piecebeing a layout to cut out a newset one and attach with staples - maybe start being active . cushioning, way too. We are so glad people produced this kind of purchase.

I had seen this product before and purchased it from Amazon when it was on sale with free shipping. We have triplets and they are all riding this very durable Skuut. They have accomplished becoming very balanced in no time on the Skuut and we are ready to take the training wheels off of their bicycles. We have two boys and a girl. The Skuut is built great, is very durable and has had 5 times the use than it would have with a single child and it is still in great shape. Believe me, with the competition we have around this household with triplets, the Skuut has to be built well. This is a great way to allow kids to progress from training wheels in a short period of time.

Our son loves his skuut! We didn't even have to show him how to get on and ride, he just mounted it and started walking. We purchased this as a Christmas present for our 20 month old and feared he wouldn't be tall enough to sit on the seat and have his feet touch the ground so we flipped the frame (so the logo is up-side-down) per the recommendation of a review here and it works great! SUPER easy to assemble and looks cute too. Good buy.

For our two-year-old daughter, the Skuut is a little too much. I did have to flip the body upside down to get the seat low enough for her (that tip worked really well!), but she still prefers to push her 4-wheeled ride-on toys around and isn't ready to begin to balance on two wheels yet. She seems too intimidated. Hopefully as the year goes on she'll become a bit more adventuresome and begin to use it, but we're not pushing. So it's a difficult review: I like it and the concept, but she doesn't like to use it yet.

As a dad I bought this little bike hoping it would help my four year old and maybe even my 7 year old learn to bike without their training wheels and without the trauma of crashing. My seven year old already had the balance, but lacked the confidence. This Strider fit the bill perfectly! My seven year old barely fit on the Strider, but still had a blast running then sitting and gliding on the bike. She did it indoors a few times, then for about thirty minutes with it outside. It was fun to watch her quickly learn to balance and glide further and further each try. Literally within thirty minutes and even trading off with her brother, she had figured out how to balance and glide down our short driveway and out into the street. While she was playing I took her training wheels off of her other bike. She hopped on it, and with a bit of a push she was riding! She giggled as she rode and said "this is just like the Strider!" Too easy! My four year old is progressing quickly too. On our second day out with the strider we went to a large parking lot with little traffic. While my seven year old had a blast tooling around the lot without her training wheels, my four old made longer and longer glides on the Strider. After an hour he could glide over twenty feet on a gently downward sloped part of the lot. It won't be long until he is ready to try his bike. Good thing too because he's almost too big for the Strider already. What a great teaching tool! The Strider seems well constructed for what it is. It is light and easy to assemble. It has tread spots on the back fork where the kids can put up their feet. It is low to the ground. My four year old is 42 inches tall and is really too tall for it already, but he manages just fine by bending his knees and stepping out to the side a bit. I paid $78 shipped and feel like it was worth it. My kids confidence level went way up when I outfitted them with knee and elbow pads and gloves to go along with their helmets. The gloves have saved their little hands from painful road rash more than once. Bell sells a package that has all the protective gear together for a reasonable price.

I researched available balance bikes and decided that the Mini Glider is the best for my son. He loves it and couldn't be happier. (He has the blue one, but the color doesn't make a difference.) Here's what sets the Mini Glider apart from the other choices:

- Super lightweight. Shipping weight is 6 pounds. Compare to the 14 pound Kettler Sprint. The lighter, the easier for a young child to manipulate. Watch my son mount, turn around, dismount, and even lift his Mini Glider with ease.
Foot pegs for ease of riding and transition to a pedal bike. Most brands have no foot rest for training foot position. The Glider Rider Bike has a 10-inch footplate, but my son's shoes are already 9 inches long. His big feet fit on the Mini Glider's foot pegs with no trouble.
Hand brake. Some others leave this out, saying that the child shouldn't go faster than his feet can stop him. My son figured out how to use the brake on his own. It is helpful to him when stopping at the bottom of a hill. This is not a Draisienne. Any child over 2 1/2 will be able to propel themselves and be "riding" and balancing.
The quality is very high. My preschooler has ridden his in all conditions and nothing has ever come loose or chipped.
It's all-wood construction is gorgeous. Everyone will comment.
Make sure you install the rubber handlebar grips. They are hard to get on. Coat the handlebars with dish soap to slide them on.

I bought this for my son at two and a half years age, and even with the seat all the way down, his feet barely make the ground and he looks intimidated. He's too young. His big brother, age seven, thought it was a hoot, and wheeled around confidently, but he's too big. Quality and construction are excellent, assembly was easy. The orange wheelcovers come off so you can get at the valve stems to put air in the tires. We also have a Kettler trike and they're terrific, too. Get the trike at age 2-3. Get this at age 3-4. Spoil them rotten.

Our 5 year old hated riding her bike with training wheels because she felt like it was too tippy and we wondered if she would ever figure it out. Then we found this one & got it for her for Christmas and she *loves* it. After 3 months she can now ride a traditional bike with NO training wheels and she was the youngest on the block to do so. It is all due to this bike. I never would have believed it since she was *petrified* of riding a bike WITH training wheels before. And when the other girls on the block took off their training wheels, there were lots of tears & they screamed for their training wheels back! And their parents had to run along side them for days trying to teach them how to balance but our daughter just took off and we didn't even have to help her. Now we are loaning out the Scoot so the other kids can learn to balance too! In fact I just ordered our 3 year old a bike with pedals & I'm pretty sure he can ride without the training wheels too, the way that he speeds around on the Scoot! It was well worth the purchase.

We bought this balance bike for our 3 and a half year old son at Christmas time. We were a little disappointed that he didn't just whizz right off like some kids do on bikes with training wheels. I had to remember that balance is a much more difficult skill to learn than pedaling. Now that he is closer to 4 (and it is spring time) he really has been practicing and loving every minute. He has a strong sense of accomplishment, because he really is figuring out how to do this by himself. Falling down hasn't been a big issue because his feet are right there to catch him. We've had no major bumps, bruises or scraps yet! Flat surfaces are best for getting started, but taking them to an area that has a slight hill really gives them the hang of picking up their feet for coasting. Also, the seat height makes a big difference. If it is too low then they can't pick up their feet easily. Most parents that I run it to say if they had known about balance bikes that they would have opted for this route.

I wish I'd bought this before he got a regular bike with training wheels, but we didn't know about balance bikes back then. After three months of using the balance bike, he asked me to take the training wheels off his two-wheeler bike. He jumped on and off he went. Here's the story: We got a regular bike with training wheels when Joe was 3 and he learned to ride it by the time he was 31/2 -- but he didn't learn to balance. He learned how to go really fast on his regular bike with training wheels but couldn't do corners fast because the bike wouldn't lean. A year later, at age 4, he loved riding his bike with training wheels, but absolutely refused to let us take the training wheels off. He would ride with us on paved paths, but he couldn't go off -road because of the training wheels. So we bough him this Kettler balance bike. The first day, I took him to the park, with some grassy hills, and showed him how to balance on it while riding down the hill. He loved rolling downhill while balancing. Next, we took it home and he practiced scooting around the block and down driveways. He practiced with his balance bike for a couple fo months. During this time, he still used his bike with training wheels on some days. After a couple of months, he asked me to take the training wheels off his two wheeled bike. It was that simple. I'd rate it 5 stars for durability and design. My son is very rough on toys and this looks almost like new. And the handle bars turn only 45 degrees, so it's more stable than a regular bike.

Got the Kettler Sprint three weeks ago. Our three year old son has taken to it quickly and is now coasting both feet of the ground for short distances at least. As he's got more confident he's got a little wilder on the steering but the bike geometry seems tolerant and forgiving of that. He's begun to get more daring with small slopes too and the odd tumble or two has resulted, but he's never come up other than with a broad smile on his face. Seems like a great way to learn. Adjustments would make sense to anyone familiar with full size bikes. Reasons for picking this were that it's a lot cheaper than LikeABike. Actually got a Skuut first off which was cheaper still but poorly made with half an inch side to side wobble on both wheels - sent that back without even assembling it. The Sprint is better made and looks better. Not sure how well it would work for a two year old - this is heavier (14.5lb) than a Skuut (11.2lb) or the aluminum model of LikeABike (7.5lb) which is the closest match and over twice the price. The seat is large but quite adjustable. Update in June'08: The boy can now go for a 4 mile ride on this. Coasts down hills feet off the ground (on safe trails at a local park). Learnt to make sharp turns naturally leaning the bike through his own instincts - how could you do that with training wheels! The photos on Amazon now show an updated model from what we got in March. Now has exposed spokes (easier for tire inflation) and a rear brake. Would be interested to hear how well the brake works - and whether kids get the concept - or can control it with small hands!

Our family absolutely loves this bike. We bought it for our son for Christmas. Within two days he was zooming around like a pro. He was 5 months shy of his 3rd birday!! Now our daughter who is almost two and a half is now beginning to learn. The best thing about this bike is that the kids transition from tricycle to bicycle without the use of training wheels. (our son only used the training wheels on his new bike for a week then he asked us to take them off.)I would highly recommend this bike. It's well built. Adusts to fit. I bought this bike 6 months ago for my girlfriend's son. He was just over two at the time (27 months). He didn't like trikes or toy-training-wheel bikes. His legs were too short for the pedals on his trike or bike in reality anyhow. I bought this based on reviews on a bike forum site. A lot of people take 10-12" wheeled metal pedal bikes, remove the cranks, and cover the bike with padding to recreate this idea. The bike is simply two wheels, a saddle, frame, fork, and bars. The idea of modifying a pedal bike is good, this thing is great. The problem with stripping down a metal pedal bike is the weight and the potential danger in a crash. The Skuut bike is feather-light and it won't cause bruises and bumps after a fall like a metal bike. There are no spokes to bruise or break little hands or feet. The bars wont turn sharply (they will only sweep about 40-50 degrees), so a wipeout is pretty difficult. Even the ends of the bars are brilliantly designed to prevent harm to tender little bodies. Another plus is how adjustable it is. When lowered all the way down, it is still a little big for a young two year old. If you flip the frame (just move the fork and saddle to the other side of the frame) it changes the "head tube" angle and saddle height so that it is low-slung enough for even the shortest legs. There is a ton of adjustability, so I imagine it could fit a tall 20-month old up to a 4-5 year old. The build quality is just OK. It is a Chinese item, which is why it doesn't cost as much as the German Like-A-Bikes made with non-slave wage labor. It isn't as strong as the $250 Like-A-Bike, but it costs 1/3 as much. It does what it was designed to do well, and is a good value for the $$$. The weak spot is the pin that connects the fork to the frame. The pin is supported by 1/2" plywood. I think a rough, heavy older kid could easily break it, but a kid like that is ready for a real bike anyhow. Just keep the older siblings off of it. The wheels wobble a bit, but they are fine for what they are designed for, you can't really expect a wooden wheel to be perfectly true anyhow. The fat pneumatic tires are great for smoothing out the road once the little guy or gal gets the hang of it and gains speed, or likes to crawl over obstacles. The saddle is wood covered by thin padding and fabric, but the little guy never complained of a sore bottom, and he spends hours on it (I imagine diapers help to smooth the bumps too, how cool is it that there is a bike where kids can balance on two wheels before they can remember to use the toilet regularly). I can only speak to the learning curve of one kid, but it was incredible to watch him learn to ride it. Again, he was 27 months, a bigger kid would probably pick it up a little quicker. He was instantly drawn to it. I had him help me put it together and he was all smiles. I cycle a lot and he goes along at times, so he knew very well what it was for. First thing, I took him out to the sidewalk, and he walked along with his feet. He took it as his own pace to get a feel for it. I had to show him a few times how to steer, at first he would come to a bend in the sidewalk and wait for me to aim him in a different direction, or he would just lift the front wheel to maneuver it (it is very very light so it's easy for him to move it around). Steering took him about an hour to figure out, a couple days to get good at it. It doesn't steer very sharply, which helps him learn to lean and turn, plus helps prevent falls. He loved it from day one. Within a week of daily play on it, he began to add a bit more speed and the balance idea began to grow in his mind. His steering was expert and he was good at stopping. He also liked to try to crawl over low curbs and stones. I'm more of a roadie, but I think he's going to be a mountain biker. I could just see in his eyes that he was imagining himself on rough technical singletrack. By the end of two weeks, he had mastered balance. Yes. I said mastered balance at 27 months. He could build speed by skuuting and lift his legs to coast til he slowed enough that he needed to kick his legs to get back to speed. His mom isn't terribly athletic and she needed a scooter or her bike to keep up with us (she hates to run/jog). He Skuuts at about 5 MPH (so get a helmet and pads). He learned to stop himself with his feet as he learned balance, so he was pretty good at stopping himself, even at full speed. He instinctually keeps his speed reasonable on hills, but he loves those hills too. Just make sure you are nearby once this confidence kicks in, kids have no fear. He's two so he's easily distracted by flowers, birds and butterflies, so he stops quite a bit; but when he's going he's really going strong. There is no question that when he is big enough for a pedal bike that he won't need training wheels at all. He easily can keep up with the 4 year old neighbor girl on her pedal-bike with training wheels. When we take it to the park everyone stares in amazement and wants to know where we bought it. There is good video on the manufacturer web site if you want to see it in action. I highly recommend it. I wrote this review because I returned to this page to buy another one for my nephew for Christmas. You won't regret buying this thing.

Ordered this for my 3-yr old son for Christmas, and waited to assemble it until Christmas Eve. The wood laminate was of such poor quality, I feared for my son's safety while playing on it. My neighbor and I spent two hours re-gluing and clamping the front fork so my kid would at least be able to sit on it Christmas morning. We called customer support Christmas Eve, and received a call-back from a U.S. based, English speaking person ( ;-)) on Christmas Day - quite remarkable. Anyway, no questions asked, they sent a new bike out without even getting a proof of purchase, so excellent customer support. New bike arrived, and it wasn't much better than the first, but at least he could ride it. He loves it too, and now in March, he's ready to move up to a real bike WITHOUT training wheels. Great concept, really. So yesterday, as expected, while riding the old (repaired) Skuut down a slight grade (Woohoo, look I'm doing it!) Wham. Faceplant on the concrete when the front fork splintered into three pieces. Since he was wearing helmet and pads, nothing but a sad kid, but hey! We've got a spare in the garage! What I've noticed with this toy, as well as his Schwinn tricycle (oh, don't get me started on that one, we've replaced literally every piece of that bike at least once) is that the companies selling this junk know it's junk and would much rather repair or replace at the drop of a hat than actually invest that money loss in developing and producing a decent product. Think about your kids safety, be reasonable in how you let your kid use this toy, and have them wear at least a helmet.

We purchased the Skuut after reading reviews and closely examining the competition (primarily the Likeabike). First, the good: bike assembles easily, looks cute, and rides fast and true. The bad: it started falling apart within weeks, to the point of becoming completely unsafe. Our child is on the small side, just turned three, is 36 inches tall and weighs under 30 pounds. I can't imagine how a heavier child could ride one of these. As much as our child loved it, it just wasn't safe. We were able to send it back even after the 30 day period (way to go, Amazon!) and replaced the Skuut with the Kettler Sprint. Even though it doesn't look as cool, the Kettler is so much sturdier. The resale value will be higher too, since Kettler is such a well known quality kid's bike builder.
